NJ Prevailing Wage Rate

Contractors, laborers, professionals and other workers employed by private companies doing contract work for public entities are entitled to be paid the prevailing wage for their services in the community. The prevailing wage in New Jersey is set by the Dept. of Labor.

Often, however, dishonest employers will try to cheat their workers and the state by paying less than the prevailing wage rate, or by falsifying benefit and/or income information to make it appear as if they're in compliance. Sometimes, workers don't even realize they're being cheated out of the New Jersey prevailing wage rate; sometimes, however, they're threatened with loss of their job if they complain, or if they tell the state what's happening.

Don't stand for it. Our New Jersey employment law firm files these cases both as individual claims and as class actions. We can use our experience as New Jersey employment attorneys to recover the wages to which you're entitled under the Prevailing Wage Law (a subchapter of the Wage and Hour Law). To speak with an employment lawyer in New Jersey about your potential prevailing wage claim, contact us today for a free case review.
